I started to make a bowl out of one. Just need to finish it. Popped a hole in one to make a canteen. Just a b**** to get all the crap out of'em. You know an easy method? I broke one being a bit aggressive with it.

Well Jesse. Damn good question! A handful of nuts bolts and screws shaken inside will help. I made a minature weedeater looking dowel rod out of a piece of weedeater cord and stuck in on a hand drill. Worked great getting out the dried guts. Then I took and melted parrafin, poured it in, and shook it around to seal inside of gourd.
I have heard some have not had good luck with this method (?) and used beeswax. I suggest using what might work
Best for you! Water soaked in some untreated gourds was real bitter to me. So good luck!

I have tons of beeswax. I'll use that.
What about a cork? Any suggestions?

I suggest a cork! That's what I used.

(Ok,,, yeah. I'm an a-hole).

Ahh,,,,, a wine Cork. Or hobby lobby sells a little bag of assorted corks. Might not be bad to have an extra few anyway! :)

Next time you'll save that whiskey cork and not go spittin' it at the Barkeep.
