Life time Shnick award

Postby saustin1967 » Sat Jun 30, 2018 10:03 am

To be honest, the reason I packed up and left last night from camp.

1. No one else was there.
2. I kind of Shnicked myself last weekend. With a router. Lost the end of my pinky finger.

Thought it was good. Managed to get all loaded up yesterday and camp set up. But while cooking dinner I banged my finger on something, not paying attention. Had to retire to the house for some pain meds.

Stitches come out Monday, lost everything from the nail bed out on my right pinky. No ER picks, been a week and I can still hardly look at it long enough to doctor it.

Saved the joint, so should get most of the use back out of it.

DUDE!
Did you try to to put a bull nose ogive on your pinky finger!
Handles and grips are supposed to conform to the hand! Not the other way around!
Speedy recovery, my Friend!

Nope, tongue and grooving some 1x for a table.

Router was getting kind of hot so, like a dummy I put gloves on, so as not to burn my delicate hands. Turn the router of and was laying it down. It reach out and grabbed the glove. Took a chunk out of the nail side. They had to remove bone and flesh to do a fold over.

Lifetime Shnick award.

Yeah, I know, I’m a dumb ass. I know better than to wear gloves.
If it were not my gun hand I would have put a .45 in the router on the spot. Pissed me off extremely.

Coulter Hale ain’t a pimple on my ass. He will be lucky if he lives to be my age.

Dammmnnn, bet that hurt. Guess it could have been worse, be glad your thumb was not involved. Better leave the routing to me and stick with making knives. On a good note, trimming your nails will now be 10% faster.
