Any avid crappie or catfish anglers?

Was curious if anyone on here fishes avidly for either species and what they pack with them when going out for a day or 2 on the water.

Not me. I fish. That's it. I throw out a random assortment of lures, hooks, etc until I catch something. I have a buddy that can throw a 1" hemp rope into a puddle and catch a 20lb catfish from it. Can't talk him into signing up on the forum though.
Oh well, I guess what I'm saying is that I'm no help at all. LOL

Family has a history of cat fishing, we always use jug lines or trot lines, baited with perch.
"Well, crap I left it in the other pack." Words of a bushcraft gear junkie.
