My head is actually about a foot inside the tent. It's an optical illusion, it's so high and peaky, but still just long enough. If I do another, and I probably will, it will be 9' long inside. Just one 10x12 tarp, cut like below. Eight foot along the three bottom sides, slightly over 8' long ridge, 1' 3" cut out for the rear pole. Seven foot, 8" along the upright triangle sides. Here's my opinions: Hatchet, good for splitting up smaller stuff, good for hammering, traditional. Machete, good for splitting up smaller stuff, no worry about grubbing out roots or hitting the dirt, can be dual ground to act like a knife, Tomahawk, good for splitting up smaller stuff, decent hammer...
