Flint in east texas
Does any one know where to find flint or chert in east texas like the tyler area thank

East Texas isnt the best place to find flint. But I do have a universal method.
Parking lots. A lot of people and businesses use a stone accent around their lots. Its isnt hard to find some decently sized flint stones in them if you paying attention.
But as for naturally I don't think you'll find it very easily.

I usually find my flint in the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital parking lot..... Saw another guy out there cracking the chert open as well the other day, lol.

5 looks to be just north of Canton, 7 looks to be around Pittsburgh?

I have had good luck using Jasper. In the Oil fields where I work the base used for the roads and rigs sites are loaded with it, throws good sparks from a steel and every once in a while I also find petrified wood, also makes good sparks Peace
