Son's first bushcraft fire

Post by Bill » Tue Feb 21, 2017 1:53 pm

Took my son Ricky out for a hike this weekend and he got his first "bushcraft" fire started using charred punk wood, a ferro rod and ash juniper bark.

Good job Ricky. Next time don't be handling hot coals with your booger hooks or that could lead to you meeting your first aid requirements for First Class and don't let your Dad take your head cover away that works as a fan for the tender young fire and keeps your mug out of the smoke. Make your Dad sign off your advancement requirements in your handbook, I think you might have met some for Second Class. Well done young lad, well done.
