Here it is boys. We did it.
166 yards, standing, resting my 8.5" 300BLK pistol on the top of the door of a truck. Quarting away. Heart and lungs. ~87lbs dressed.
It felt perfect. The shot anyway.
I hadn't seen anything but bucks in the stand, James on the other hand got another doe. So after picking up his we drove around trying to find another for me. About 15 mins later we found a group of 5 does and we slowly got close enough to warrant a shot. It was JUST over the top of the hill so I had to stand in the door of my buddies truck and rest my rifle on the top of it. I had to wait till they cleared away from each other to take the shot and when I finally squeezed the trigger it felt perfect, even at a distance I'd never shot.
In all the commotion I forgot to put my ears in. My ears are still ringing.
Enough talking here's some pictures.
BTW Scott, the folder you gave me is definitely getting a work out.
