Not truly near Eastland / Breckenridge, but my work brings me that way a couple times a month. I'm a mobile mechanic for Frito Lay, and have a couple trucks in Eastland. I'm out of Wichita Falls, but don't mind checking out wild possum kingdom, or that area as a whole.

As far as the towns go, they are fairly small, and the area is well wooded. Anything specific you're looking to know?

are the locals open to newcomers, or they not accepting of new people? drugs, gangs, etc.? do you hear people saying "stay out of Eastland Texas"?

I will say that when I drove through Eastland both times it seemed pretty clean. I did not see a lot of check cashing places, liquor stores, or pawnshops.

It's pretty hokey, not quite hick, but by no means urban. Ill give a guy I know a shout, he's lived there most of his life.
