Figured you boys may want to know this if you don't already.
But, BaoFeng HAM radios are getting banned starting the 30th of this month. I went ahead and ordered 2 Baofend UV-5Rs and will get my license... eventually.
I'm no expert but here is a video by Survival on Purpose outlining what is changing:

And a link to the "Personal Radio Service Reform" that the FCC will be implementing:

He is not absolutely correct. Only 7 of the FRS channels do not require a license. You needs a license for the other 7, which you can go online to the FCC and pay the fee, no test, and have it by Monday or Tuesday. I have both, the FRS and the Ham.
On top of that the GPMRS channels fall in the 2M band of the Ham. So any 2M radio can tune those channels.

JMHO on how that reads

If you get the GPMRS license it covers your whole family. That is why when we use my radios in the woods, we are covered, all you guys are by brothers, lol.

AG5KZ here, mainly on the air with my HT’s hitting the local repeaters. Sorry to see the Beofeng’s go I have several. They’re do a decent job on the ham bands but they’re also great to monitor FRS/GMRS and business bands.
