Howdy

Post by kronin323 » Mon Mar 18, 2019 8:50 pm

Howdy y'all, native Austinite here. I grew up doing a lot of scouting and outdoors stuff on into my adulthood. Had to take a hiatus for a while due to job and family but the last couple years been able to work my way back into it.

I joined BCUSA last summer. Some guys there just now told me about this place, and here I am. I'm gonna be out and offline the next few days at Enchanted Rock but I wanted to go ahead and join up while the joinin's good.

Welcome Kronin! Good to see you here.

There is a meet-up thread over on BCUSA, Georgetown lake, and the April gathering was brought up as a no-go date for a few of us.

Thanks everybody.

Just got back from Enchanted Rock yesterday evening. I used to go there all the time but not for a long while now, been nearly 20 years since I'd last been. I'll tell ya, nothing like tromping all over a giant rock with a 7 year old to remind you how old and out of shape you've gotten...

Yeah it was that meetup thread on BCUSA where @jeffro clued me in on this place. The TXBC meetup he mentioned April 13th, I don't know if that's still open to additional people and/or newbies like me, and I don't know if I can make it work even if it is, but I'd like to check it out in case it is and I can.

EDIT - I see the meetup on the 13th is all full. 50 out of 50 slots filled, that's a great turnout. Well, I've already got another outing planned for the following weekend so I'm probably best off not having the temptation of this one, too. Hope everybody has a great time!
