Hello from Arlington, TX

Post by jmhelton » Wed May 15, 2019 1:32 pm

My name is Josh, I was born and raised in Fort Worth. I wasn't ever really an outdoor kind of person until my mid-20's when I started getting into prepping. What I like most about bushcraft is being in nature, listening to the wildlife and the wind blowing the trees around. My favorite place to camp is the Davy Crockett forest. My brother and I found the perfect spot to set up our hammocks and practice our skills. I'm here because I want to learn more about the various different skillsets that are essential to bushcraft. I have a very nice bugout bag with some pretty quality equipment, I just need to learn more about the craft and the skills that come with it. I'm mostly looking forward to the gatherings where I can meet with like minded individuals so we can all share thoughts and knowledge with each other. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the fire! I lived in arlington for quite some time. About a year ago moved further south just to get out of the city. Davey Crockett is really nice, and with proper planning could definitely take a trip out there. Also there is lbj national grasslands that is about an hour or so from Arlington and is nice for bushcraft activities. Let me know if you want to plan something out and maybe we can get a group together to head out one of those places.

Davy Crockett NF is a common stomping ground for us. We have meets there regularly, sometimes classes are held too. Keep your eyes out for the next one.

Howdy! Davy Crockett is a pretty good drive from Abilene but I try to make an appearance every now and then. Glad you could join us.

Hello from Lumestone County. Just south of ya a bit.
We do some form of bushcraft, prepping or survival everyday here. We are also 10 min away from Fort Parker State Park.
