Great question.

My 10 items reflect the 10 C's. But differ depending the region of the country I'm at.

Arizona/West Texas
1-H&B Forge GOSHAWK Tomahawk
2-Water bottles to carry at least a gallon.
3-Life Straw
4-Trangia Spirit Burner with Screwcap and Everclear.
5-Sleeping bag
6-Billy Pot
7-Tarp
8-Abo Knapping kit
9-Fire Kit (Flint & Steel, BIC, Ferro Rod, Mini Infernos, Tin full of char cloth and/or fat wood, lens).
10-PKS Wildcat

North and East Texas

2-60oz single wall stainless steel water bottle.
3- Mosquito Net
4-Trangia Spirit Burner with Screwcap and Everclear.
8.Sleeping bag
6-Billy Pot

Mosquito nets are a total sanity item out here. They're number two, right after water for me!
